  1. Pepperbox.

    Six barrelled percussion pepperbox pistol of about 1845 by Allen and Thurber of Worcester, Mass.  Engraved.

    Length of miniature just over 2½ inches:  £2,450

  2. Deringer.

    Classic percussion pocket pistol of about 1850 with 2 inch rifled barrel.  Back action lock marked DERINGER, PHILADELA.  Stock chequered and decorated with German silver.

    Length of miniature under 2 inches:  £2,050

  3. Westley Richards.

    Monkey-tail breech-loading pistol with rifled barrel. Flat lockplate stamped WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO and 1867 within a triangle. An experimental arm never taken into British service but saw service with Portuguese Army.

    Length of miniature just under 5 inches:  £2,450
